Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia today reviewed arrangements for upcoming Mela at Baba Chamliyal shrine at Ramgarh Border area at an officers meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that shrines in the State and country are symbols of composite culture and heritage and people must strive to uphold the ethos and transfer the same to the future generations. He said that such type of events give people an opportunity to interact with the each other and helps in mutual understanding and strengthening brotherhood.
Mr Slathia directed for foolproof security and other arrangements. He asked the district administration to make available adequate number of buses for the devotees during the Mela, besides putting in place all facilities for the convenience of the visitors at the site of Mela. The setting up of a control room for the smooth conduct of the mela was also stressed upon.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh, gave a detailed account of arrangements made for the Mela by all the line departments including PHE, PDD, PWD, Traffic Police, Motor Vehicle and Tourism Departments.
He said all the departments have already initiated the works assigned to them.
He also informed that developmental departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Health, Education, Employment, Handicrafts, Handloom, Floriculture, Tourism, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry would install stalls for highlighting the developmental activities of their respective departments and also disseminate the information related to employment schemes for the benefit of unemployed youth.
SSP Samba, Israr Khan who was also present in the meeting informed that all required steps will be taken for security and maintaining law and order, while 50 traffic personnel are being deployed for regulation of traffic on various routes leading to Chamliyal.
The Commandant, BSF Hemant Kumar informed that two Companies of BSF Personnel will be deployed for maintaining security and facilitating the smooth conduct of the Mela.
