Chenai Super Kings CEO and BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was on Saturday sent to police custody for five days till May 29 by a Mumbai court on Saturday, according to Times Now.
Meiyappan was grilled by Mumbai crime branch for several hours following his arrest on Friday night in IPL betting scandal. He had been summoned by Mumbai Police for questioning after his name cropped up in the betting scandal following arrest of actor Vindu Dara Singh on May 21.
Meanwhile, contrary to the earlier reports of Srinivasan meeting Meiyappan in Mumbai on Saturday evening, the BCCI boss distanced himself from the controversy by leaving for Kolkata where CSK will be facing Mumbai Indians for the IPL 6 finals on Sunday.
